A HOWLER by Plymouth keeper David Stockdale gave the Blades victory in an amazing topsy-turvy game.

After an impressive fightback by the men from Devon, Stockdale's teammates watched in horror as he gifted a goal to Richard Cresswell.

The young, on-loan keeper from Fulham rolled out the ball, ready to kick out of his area, failing to notice that "Cressy" was still behind him.

The United striker spotted his chance to nick the ball, then raced round the keeper to hit home.

That made the score 4-2 and, although Jamie Mackie pulled one back, the steam had been taken out of Argyle's fightback.

But an inspired double substitution by Mariner at half-time looked to have done the trick as Benin international Yannick Bolasie and Joe Mason hit solo strikes that shocked United.

Camara's clinicallytaken goal put poor Plymouth on the back foot from the start. Lee Williamson passed to Mark Yeats, who threaded an accurate pass to Camara.

The 32-year-old Senegalese international raced forward and after beating off the attention of Karl Arnason, he hit a low drive that easily beat Stockdale.

It looked curtains for Plymouth when Ward struck for his first of two great strikes. Tony Kallio supplied the cross and Ward hit the ball on the volley to send a screamer into the net.

Ward's second was a poacher's goal as he hit his eighth of the season from a Nyron Nosworthy long-throw.

Then came Stockdale's moment of horror and although Mackie pulled one back, the keeper's lapse ultimately proved to be costly for Argyle.
