OUR LIVES; Karyn Hay And Andre

KARYN HAY and Andrew Fagan hardly need an introduction. The couple are stalwarts of the New Zealand music scene, Hay as a long time presenter of television's Radio With Pictures and Fagan as lead singer with The Mockers. But rock'n'roll's not all they do - both are also published authors, and have numerous other strings to their bows. Hay, who manages the Kiwi FM radio network and Replica Bulgari Watches was a Next magazine "cover girl" last month, is a veteran television producer and director. She won a 2001 Montana Book Award for her first novel, and in 2004 was awarded a Frank Sargeson Fellowship. A new novel and a book of poetry are due out this year. Fagan, who circumnavigated New Zealand in his boat Swirly World three years ago, is also a poet, children's book author, replica boat designer (his first "Davilon The Morocat" was launched in November), and music programmer for Kiwi FM. He's currently recording a new album (Admiral of the Seas) and completing a documentary about his 2007 expedition.

The couple, who with their two boys Seth and Fabian, now 14 and 10, lived for a time on a canal boat in the UK, also host an early evening show on Radio Live.
